Applications Conditions
Please read the following information carefully before applying.
- Exam location, exam hall and exam hours are the school, hall and hours indicated in the Student's Electronic Entrance Document.
- You must arrive the school campus 30 minutes before the exam time.
- Do not forget to bring your Exam Entry Document, which is prepared after your application on our website, on your day of exam.
- Students who are 15 minutes late from the exam time will be admitted to the building but will not be given extra time.
- Students who arrive later than 15 minutes will not be admitted to the exam.

Academic Excellence Scholarship
Sitting the exam
- The exam includes test tests.
- The entire exam takes about two hours. There is usually one 15-minute break.
- The exam is designed to be challenging. It’s common for students to not finish the entire exam.
How to prepare for the exam
- Make sure your child has a good night’s sleep.
- Don't place unnecessary pressure on your child. It may create anxiety and affect their results.
- Try to be as calm as possible before the exam to help your child relax.
- Remember that the scholarship exam is quite demanding. It is designed to challenge students. Make sure you and your child have realistic expectations of their results.
It is common for students to only answer half the questions correctly, and to not finish the whole exam. Let your child know so they do not panic if they run out of time.
What to bring to the exam
Your child should bring these items to the examination:

- Two 2B or 4B pencils, a sharpener and an eraser. A blue or black biro is optional for the writing tasks.

What to expect on exam day
Your child should:
- 1.arrive on time
- 2.go to the toilet before the exam starts
- 3.listen carefully to instructions
- 4.use a 2B or 4B pencil for the multi-choice sections
- 5.colour in the answer circles fully and dark enough for the scanning process
- 6.use the back of the answer sheets for any working-out (don’t write in the test booklets)
- 7.read test questions as they are written and don’t make assumptions based on prior knowledge
- 8.be aware that all the information needed to answer a question is in the question
- 9.answer as many questions as possible in the allocated time
- 10.try not to leave any blank answers. If they aren’t sure, choose the answer that fits best – they won’t lose marks for incorrect answers
- 11.check they are answering the question in the right spot on the answer sheet. The spots are marked with question numbers
- 12.be aware that if they cheat they need to leave and will not have their results scored.
Exam results and offers
- Exam results are delivered to parents individually. Information mail is sent to students who will benefit from the scholarship. The registration office communicates with the parents who want to register.
- Eligible students are offered places based on their exam results.

1. Ability tests
These tests measure your child's ability to solve problems without prior knowledge. Ability generally predicts how quickly a child will be able to learn and the level of complexity they can deal with. The two ability tests are verbal reasoning and numerical reasoning
1.1 Verbal reasoning
This is a multiple-choice test that measures the ability to think and reason using words and language. Items in the test tap into vocabulary, word relationships, classification and deduction.

This is a multiple-choice test that measures the ability to think and reason using numbers. Items in the test tap into series, matrices, arithmetical reasoning and deduction.
2. Achievement tests
These tests measure actual achievement or performance in key academic areas.
Achievement scores are influenced by:
• a student’s ability
• the application and practice of knowledge that has been learned.
The three achievement tests are reading comprehension, mathematics and written expression.
Students complete one written expression test. Students may be asked to produce any of the following text types – creative or persuasive.

This is a multiple-choice test that measures the capacity to read and interpret meaning from written passages. Some questions also require students to correct, complete and punctuate sentences.

This test asks students to write an original work in response to a visual or written cues. It measures the student’s ability to convey ideas in written form. The test assesses punctuation, content, creativity, construction, paragraphs, spelling and relevance. 4. Persuasive writing
This test asks students to respond to an issue that is relevant to society. For example, social, environmental or political issues. It measures the student’s ability to: • take a stance on the issue
• make a logical and cohesive argument
• persuade an audience
The test assesses persuasive devices and language, punctuation, structure, grammar, spelling and vocabulary.

Science & Technology Scholarship
• Aljazari Schools of Science and Technology Scholarship exam will be held in order to measure and reward the success of students who want to study in our school in the 2020 /2021 academic year.

• Science and Technology scholarship consists of two parts: written and applied. The written exam consists of science, logic and math questions, and then the students will design their products on a specific subject by the materials given to them. The two-stage exam takes a total of two hours and the time given is sufficient for the practical exam.
• The practical exam is intended for students to make logical connections using their prior knowledge and reflect this to their technical skills.
• The evaluation will be made by a committee which includes members from our science and technology unit.

ART SCHOLARSHIP
• Aljazari Schools of Science and Technology Art Scholarship exam will be held in order to measure and reward the success of students who want to study in our school in the 2020 /2021 academic year.

• Students who want to receive an art scholarship will be evaluated according to their performance in playing an instrument of their choice. Evaluation procedures will be done by a committee of music teachers and scholarship rates will be determined.
• Students who want to receive a scholarship will be evaluated according to their performance in the fields of drawing and painting techniques. A judging committee of painting teachers will conduct the assessment and scholarship rates will be determined.

ART SCHOLARSHIP
Aljazari Schools support success in the field of music and visual arts. Scholarships are offered to students who are in the top three ranks in official competitions in the field of art according to the evaluation conducted by the judging committee consisting of music and painting teachers. Students are required to apply to our institution with their official documents and to meet with our teachers on the date of the art exam.

SPORTS SCHOLARSHIP
• Aljazari Schools of Science and Technology Sports Scholarship Exam is to measure and reward students' talent in the fields of taekwondo and basketball in the 2020-2021 academic year.
• Students in grades 3 through 7 can apply to attend basketball and taekwondo exams
• Students can get the "Exam Entry Document" through the exam application page.
• Students will take the exams in the martial arts and indoor gymnasium at Aljazari Schools, Atakent campus

SPORTS SCHOLARSHIP
Aljazari Schools provide scholarship by evaluating students' previous sports achievements. In the taekwondo branch, scholarship opportunities are offered to students who rank in the top three in official competitions, with a coach assessment. Students are required to apply to our institution with their official documents and to interview with taekwondo coach on the date of the sports exam.
SCHOLARSHIP RATES

A total of eight students will be given a sports scholarship, four students in the field of basketball and four students in the field of taekwondo.

Sports scholarships will be given to two students, one in the field of basketball and one in the field of taekwondo.
